Backlash Effect? Pehredaar Piya Ki To Take A LEAP Of 12 Years!

Looks like the makers of Sony TV’s (in) famous show, Pehredaar Piya Ki have had enough of negativity attached to their show. Probably in an effort to undo the damage done, they have taken a surprising decision. Why is it surprising? Well, keep reading.

Recently BCCC directed Sony TV to run the show in a late slot. Not just this! The channel was also asked to run a disclaimer throughout the show saying that it does not encourage child marriage.

Now, after changing the time slot and running the disclaimer, makers along with the channel have also decided to take a leap of 12 years in and take the story ahead in October.

Isn’t it surprising considering the show was launched almost a month back? While leaps are common TRP boosters for Indian TV shows yet to introduce it so soon in a show’s life, is surely weird! Of course, now the young boy, Afaan Khan will no longer be a part of the show and will be replaced by a grown-up actor after the leap.

While the makers might say it’s what they always planned to do, we feel the reason for this could be the controversies the show has been surrounded with ever since it started.

Interestingly, a few days back, when the producers of the show- Shashi and Sumeet addressed the media to clear the air around the show, Shashi Mittal said that no leap will be taken in the show till the story demands it.

The show has been receiving a lot of backlash as it brings to the audience the atrocious story of a 9-year-old boy(Afaan Khan) getting married to an 18-year-old girl (Tejaswi).

Let’s see if after the leap, the show manages to enter the good books of the viewers.
